JAZZ CONCERT CLIPS

Jazz Is... a feature length jazz documentary that tells the chronological story of jazz in Atlanta from the 60’s to the Present as it corresponds with the growth of Atlanta as the birthplace of the civil rights movement to Atlanta’s ongoing transformation into an International city. The story is told from the point of view of locals such as musicians, club owners, radio, print & TV personalities and concert promoters that have held secret all the stories of Atlanta's great jazz scene. Until Now.

STAR Jazz located 177 Peters ST. in a great place for jazz. Each week the Monday Jazz Appreciation event is the place to be 9pm - 12 midnight or beyond.

Here's where your musicial host Bernard Linnette swings with musicians from all around Atlanta who drop in to really jam and bring their special sound.

Last Monday we were joined by EJ Hughes on Sax, Mark Miller on Bass, Danny Harper on Trumpet and wowed the crowd with Milestones by Miles Davis and seminal favorite "Short Story" composed by the late, great Kenny Dorham.

Also gracing the crowd was the beautiful voice of Julie Dexter, Zinzi, and Kemba Cofield. STAR is a beautiful place made just for great music, and with wonderful service & attentive service to make you feel at home.
