Atlanta, Georgia, September 2, 2009 - “First Thursdays” at Smiths Olde Bar is the ASCAP Showcase Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 7pm, Admission is $5. The line up includes Chris Unck, Caddle, Julie Gribble and Tim O’Donovan. ASCAP is home to the greatest names in American music, past and present — from Duke Ellington to Dave Matthews, from George Gershwin to Stevie Wonder, from Leonard Bernstein to Beyoncé, from Marc Anthony to Alan Jackson, from Henry Mancini to Howard Shore.
ASCAP is a membership association of more than 350,000 U.S. composers, songwriters, lyricists, and music publishers of every kind of music. ASCAP represents hundreds of thousands of music creators worldwide. ASCAP is home to the greatest names in American music, past and present — from Duke Ellington to Dave Matthews, from George Gershwin to Stevie Wonder, from Leonard Bernstein to Beyoncé, from Marc Anthony to Alan Jackson, from Henry Mancini to Howard Shore — as well as many thousands of writers in the earlier stages of their careers.
A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Julie Gribble’s urban folk with a twist of Americana and good ole rock and roll has entranced audiences with her modern stories of life, love and relationships. Gribble’s guest appearances include, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, The Tyra Banks Show and Good Day Atlanta. She received the 2005 LA Music Award for Best Adult Alternative Artist. Described as "dixie fried roots rock with a dash of punk," Caddle draws on classic country and bluegrass influences, then supercharges them with hard driving rock n' roll with an attitude. Caddle has opened shows for artists such as Billy Joe Shaver, Kid Rock, and The Black Crowes, Timothy O'Donovan is emerging as a singer/ song writing force to be reckoned with. Simple, catchy melodies married to a flair for personal storytelling, his music is at once both vast and un-complicated. Timothy's second full length CD "One Night in Nowhere" is set for release Fall of 2009. Chris Unck is a one man band who plays, produces, mixes, masters & engineer most of his music.
