He’s pop draped in red, white & blue. Kirk McMillan attended The Citadel in Charleston, SC and graduated to become one of Atlanta’s most unique acts. Audiences will get a sense of pride as he sings crowd favorites such as “Corporate Cross,” ” Put Up Shut Up,” and “One Million Nights.”
The show will take place on May 23, 2009 at Smith’s Olde Bar at 8:00 p.m. Admission is $8.00. Kirk McMillan believes that “without music life is a journey through the desert" Before starting his musical journey, he worked for his family in the food industry. He made a journey to Memphis, Tennessee and watched a group of guys play and told his brother that he would become a musician. So he came back to Atlanta, bought a guitar and never looked back.
Kirk McMillan will feature songs from his debut CD American Dream World. The new CD include a collection of original music inspired by his unique insights of the American experience. The songs are proud, patriotic, and strikingly positive and upbeat album may remind listeners of a softer, more Americana-based Jon Bon Jovi. BestofAtlantaConconcerts music journalist, Megan Morian described the title track American Dream World as “hopeful and sweet, and tells the story of two people who have different ideas of the America they want. At the same time, they both want the same American Dream World with each other in it. Also functioning as the title of the album, this song questions the American dream and what it means to us individually”.
