A feature length jazz documentary that tells the chronological story of jazz in Atlanta from the 60’s to the Present as it corresponds with the growth of Atlanta as the birthplace of the civil rights movement to Atlanta’s ongoing transformation into an International city. The story is told from the point of view of locals such as musicians, club owners, radio, print & TV personalities and concert promoters that have held secret all the stories of Atlanta's great jazz scene. Until Now.

The one and only time I got to see Ella Fitzgerald (with Oscar Peterson!) was at Chastain, and I drove over from Birmingham for that. Atlanta has always been a center for jazz in the Southeast. While the emphasis here seems to be more on "smooth jazz", I can't think of a better Southern city for jazz.
